Sonic the Hedgehog speeds back into theaters this weekend

The popular video game character Sonic the Hedgehog is speeding back onto the big screen this weekend in the new family adventure "Sonic the Hedgehog 3."

Actor Ben Schwartz returns to voice the iconic speedster for the third time – but tells FOX 32 entertainment reporter Jake Hamilton that he hasn’t tired of the experience yet.

"I am flabbergasted that I’m this thing," Schwartz said of voicing the popular SEGA character. "It’s to get movies to come out in theaters, it’s hard to get people to care about your films. We have built this thing from an incredible IP but in a way that fans feel like they’re taken care of.

The actor added "When you love something, you want to shout it to the rooftops and you want to give it love so people keep seeing it and you can keep making more. I feel so lucky that I get to be in this industry to but do this especially, it’s the crown jewel. It’s the gift that keeps giving."

"Sonic the Hedgehog 3" opens in theaters on Friday.
