Hospital nurses, doctors ready to walk amid alarming burnout rates

America's nurses are stressed out and getting out. Data from one nonprofit shows 100,000 nurses left the workforce during the pandemic and the National Council of State Boards of Nursing shows by 2027, about a fifth of registered nurses will call it quits.
