Investigation finds alleged mistreatment at Illinois prison mental health facility
A joint investigation by The Marshall Project, WBEZ, and the Chicago Sun-Times details alleged mistreatment inside the Joliet Treatment Center, a facility created to provide mental health care for incarcerated people with serious mental illness. Instead, the investigation found patients faced isolation, neglect, and other harmful conditions. The Marshall Project reporter Shannon Heffernan joins us live to discuss the findings.
