Chicago crime: 3 shot, 1 killed on West Side, police say

Three people were shot, one fatally, on Chicago’s West Side late Saturday night.

What we know:

Officers responded to the scene in the 5400 block of W. Fulton St. in the Austin neighborhood around 11 p.m., according to the Chicago Police Department.

The three victims were standing outside when they heard shots and felt pain, police said.

Police listed the following victims:

  • A 48-year-old woman was shot in the head. She died at the scene.
  • A 43-year-old woman had a graze wound to her right leg and was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in good condition.
  • A 48-year-old man was shot in the right ankle. He was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in good condition.

What we don't know:

Police did not say if the gunman was arrested or provide a description.

The victim who died has not been identified.

Area detectives are investigating.
