General Assignment Reporter: WFLD is seeking a General Assignment Reporter. The successful incumbent will gather and disseminate news. Communicate to the assignment desk the daily happenings in the field by covering day-to-day news stories through the use of strong writing and live reporting skills, performing as a fill-in anchor, and responding to breaking news. Responsible for gathering story information from various news sources and determining the worthiness of each story, idea, tip, etc. Strong knowledge of national and international events, as well as the ability to cover local stories. Keep news management and newscast producer apprised of all breaking news and changes in previous assignments. Communicate with field crews for updates on story assignments. Duties include writing, planning, reporting organized gathered information, performing in house research, and working well under pressure, social media savvy is necessary. Other duties as deemed appropriate and as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: 4 years television news experience, a degree in broadcast journalism and knowledge of city politics preferred. Anchoring experience required. Strong writing skills and an aggressive, innovative, resourceful, enterprising, and energetic approach is also required. Experience with newsroom computer a plus. Must be able to deal effectively with people and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Junior Staff Accountant: WFLD is seeking a Junior Staff Accountant. The Junior Staff Accountant will work with finance managers and senior staff accountant to assist in month end close, input journal entries, contribute to management reporting and reconcile general ledger accounts. Will assist financial analysis as well as posting daily logs and working with Credit Manager to apply cash receipts to the traffic/billing systems. Position will also file and digitally archive documents used for day to day operations, the upcoming financial system migration and the annual planning process. REQUIREMENTS: 2 - 4 years general accounting or finance related work experience, B.A degree is preferred. Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office with emphasis towards hands-on Excel experience and strong general PC knowledge/skills. Must have the ability to interface with staff and senior management. News Producer: WFLD's News Department is seeking an experienced individual for an immediate opportunity in it's newsroom as a Producer. The Producer will generate fresh and engaging content to newscasts and digital. He/she is accountable for gathering, writing, editing, and producing content along with supporting anchors and reporters. The Producer will edit VOs, SOTs, teases, and the occasional PKG for newcasts; mine and facilitate content to news and digital teams; download video and create placeholders within rundown. This person will serve as a "go-to" person for EPs, assignment editors, reporters, photographers and editors regarding editing and video requests. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in communications, journalism, or broadcast required. Minimum of five years' experience in a medium to large television market preferred. Ability to mine content from all sources and possess the technological expertise to write, edit, produce and distribute content to all platforms is required. Sports Anchor/Reporter: WFLD is looking for a dynamic Sports Anchor/Reporter who brings a passion for sports and can connect with our audience. The position requires the ability to anchor, report, and produce content for the newscast on all platforms. The Sports/Anchor reporters will be a part of newscasts, the “Final Word” show, and special coverage of Chicago’s teams. The Sports Anchor/Reporter must also build relationships with Chicago’s teams, including players, coaches, and executives. Activity on social media is a requirement for building the Fox 32 brand and covering the day’s events on digital. The Sports/Anchor reporter must also take an active role in the community to promote our image and connection to the viewers. Executive Producer: WFLD is seeking an experienced evening Executive Producer. We are looking for an individual who will help evolve television via enterprise segment creation, colorful/diverse contributor and guest development to become part of a smart, savvy morning news team. The EP will be responsible for direct planning, content selection, content development, formatting and overall editorial direction for a six hour morning news block. Responsibilities include but are not limited to overseeing newscasts producers, morning news crews, production staff, as well as, approving scripts, and edit copy. Story and future planning, social media campaigns, critiquing programs and evaluating staff are essential components of the position. Approve and regulate expenses and the ability to perform all other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Top candidates must have 5 or more year's television newscast producing/writing experience. Prior news management experience necessary. Superior creativity and organizational skills are essential. Must be resourceful, cost efficient, have strong production and technical knowledge, be able to meet deadlines and perform well under pressure. Per Diem Writer: WFLD is seeking a freelance writer to write stories assigned by producers, gather facts, find video and oversee editing of stories. Responsible for story content and accuracy.  Perform duties of line producer when assigned. Must perform all other duties as assigned and deemed appropriate. REQUIREMENTS: Candidate must have 2-3 years writing experience, experience as a line producer and computer knowledge preferred. Must be creative, concise, detail oriented, able to handle deadline pressure and take direction from producers. Reliability, good news judgment, and factual accuracy are crucial. Heaving sitting at workstation, light standing, bending, walking and stair climbing are also required. Broadcast Maintenance Technician: WFLD is seeking an experienced Broadcast Maintenance Technician. The engineering position maintains and installs equipment at the studio and transmitter facility, provides broadcast engineering support for all news and production operations and provides assistance and training to operators. This position will perform duties at the studio including maintenance of master control and production automation systems, ingest and playback servers, routing systems, satellite distribution, microwave systems, networking equipment, server hardware, and other various facility needs as assigned. The position will also provide timely and professional support for fast-paced news and broadcast television environment. The ideal candidate will also have strong working knowledge of all components related to the transmission system, including electrical, cooling systems, encoders, exciters, antennas, and other related RF equipment. REQUIREMENTS: The successful incumbent will have a minimum of five years of experience repairing and maintaining broadcast equipment and their related components. Must have a strong background in information technology and knowledge of IP networking, computer and software maintenance. Previous experience with Grass Valley iTX automation systems, Sony production switchers, ELC automation, SSL Audio System T Audio Console, ROSS robotics systems, Chyron graphics systems, Grass Valley and Evertz EQX routers, Evertz multi-viewer, and BitCentral news playback is a plus. Willingness and ability to work varied schedules. Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, work efficiently, and meet deadlines. Understanding of the requirements of a 24/7/365 live news operation. A bachelor degree in technical and/or electronics preferred equivalent education/military/experience/training is acceptable. Local Sales Assistant: WFLD/WPWR seeks a highly motivated individual to join our sales assistant team. Core responsibilities include data entry of broadcast and digital orders, filing, organizing and verifying accuracy of all orders as well as complete follow through of the sales order process. The ideal candidate will also assist members of the sales team with various projects, reports, and presentations. Candidate must be extremely detailed oriented and possess the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced corporate environment. Production Technician: The Production Technician will operate auxiliary equipment as part of FOX32’s live news and sports productions. These include but are not limited to robotic cameras, graphics and audio. The ability to excel under pressure in the fast paced environment of live local news alongside a talented team of producers and directors is required.

Responsibilities:
•    The Production Technician will serve as the technical co-pilot for all news and sports programming.  
•    Experience with studio LED lighting, ETC lighting consoles, Ross studio camera robotics, Calrec audio consoles, and Chyron graphics systems is preferred.
•    The ability to mix multiple audio sources during any news or sports program.
•    Candidate should have experience in an automated production control room environment.
•    Interaction with talent and guests using excellent interpersonal communication, verbal skills and a professional demeanor is critical.  
•    Others duties may include recording news and programming feeds and tuning in Satellite and Microwave signals.  Preparing content for broadcast by ingesting and timing media as well as judging technical quality. 
•    Previous experience with or ability to learn Grass Valley iTX master control automation system is also helpful. Knowledge of windows server/client platforms, high performance storage systems, and video encoding/delivery systems is a plus.
•    Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:
•    Prefer candidates with 5 or more years of television production experience.
•    Strong attention to detail and the ability to proactively isolate and resolve technical problems within network and broadcast systems. 
•    A team player that is able to work independently as required. 
•    In-depth troubleshooting skills and the ability to perform successfully under pressure are essential. 
•    Ability to work on multiple concurrent tasks. 
•    Previous experience and knowledge in an IT architecture and infrastructure is a plus. 
•    Must be flexible with schedule including working on weekends and holidays.  
•    Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs. Position requires membership in NABET Local 41 union.
