Sales Assistant: WFLD/WPWR is seeking an enthusiastic and driven individual to join our dynamic sales assistant team. Job Summary: The ideal candidate will be a driving force behind the scenes, supporting our sales team across a myriad of functions, ranging from detailed linear and digital order management to station projects and presentations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meticulously handle data entry for broadcast and digital orders.
  • Organize, file, and ensure the accuracy and fulfillment of sales processes.
  • Interface regularly with Sales, Accounting and Traffic departments.

Requirements:

  • A college degree is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint coupled with strong clerical abilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop a robust sales pipeline of qualified clients for the Fox Local Extension (FLX) OTT /CTV platform and Fox Local News Platforms
  • Source new sales opportunities through a combination of identifying and researching potential accounts and soliciting new business
  • Maintain a consistent presence out in the field building relationships and presenting, live or via Zoom, the benefits of the (FLX OTT/CTV platform and Fox Local News Platforms
  • Become a product expert to participate in brainstorming, team meetings, client meetings, researching and assisting in proposal development and campaign reporting
  • Collaborate with the Local Sales Manager and Digital Sales Manager to develop and maintain custom presentations that further highlight the benefits and utility of FLX
  • Maintain expert knowledge of competitive OTT platforms and a clear understanding of the characteristics that give FLX a competitive advantage
  • Steward client campaigns and work on a variety of weekly and monthly reports to develop impactful post campaign recaps and provide recommendations to further optimize client campaigns
  • Work closely with the Local Sales Manager and Digital Sales Manager on every RFP and presentation for consistency in creating impactful campaigns that help our clients achieve their marketing objectives.
  • Maintain a positive and effective working relationship with Ad-Ops, creative services, and finance departments
  • Other duties assigned as deemed necessary and appropriate

Essential Skills:

  • To be successful in this position, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and effective time management skills are a must.  Proficiency in MS Office applications: PowerPoint, Excel and Word is highly preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Other qualifications: College degree preferred.  Digital and technical training certificates a plus.  Basic digital product knowledge of Mobile, Email, Facebook, and Video advertising encouraged.

Broadcast Technician: WFLD/WPWR is searching for a versatile candidate to fill key production roles and assist in preparing material for our broadcasts, cutting across various functions such as master control, audio, camera, transmission operations, and live broadcast equipment handling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a host of production functions including audio mixing, robotic camera operation, and graphic playout, as well as master control and transmission operations.
  • Operate live broadcast equipment with an in-depth understanding of live production, particularly news.
  • Function effectively within a control room environment, maintaining critical thinking under pressure and adherence to time constraints.
  • Collaborate seamlessly as part of a dynamic production team.
  • Engage professionally with all members of staff and management.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent mandatory; further education in relevant fields preferred.
  • At least 3 years of recent experience in broadcast technician roles within medium to major market sizes.
  • Excellent communication and strong technical capabilities in systems, equipment, and software.
  • A friendly demeanor, cooperative spirit, positive outlook, and prudent judgment.
  • Physical ability to sit, stand, and move as necessary for the role.

News Producer: WFLD FOX 32 Chicago needs a dynamic, energetic and innovative producer to join our team and become part of a media company with a start-up mentality and approach.   • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage tight deadlines and respond well to direction.

News Photographer: WFLD Chicago Fox 32 has an immediate full-time job opening for a staff photographer for our news broadcast(s). Candidate will shoot and edit spot news, feature stories and sports. They will also perform LiveU and ENG microwave shots from in and around the Chicago area. Candidate must be a high caliber news photographer with a minimum 3-5 years’ experience. Bachelor’s degree in Communications or a related field preferred. Candidate must be able to shoot and edit a package in the field and must be familiar with Adobe Premiere.

Candidate must be able to lift over fifty (50) pounds of equipment, walk carrying a tripod, batteries and Live U backpack. Must be willing to work in extreme hot/cold weather conditions and be willing to work weekends, holidays, and overnights. Individual must also work well with Assignment Desk, Writers, and Reporters. Position necessitates travel and working overtime (reg. 40 hour work week).

Multi-Media Producer: Do you like to tell great stories and work with leading edge gear? FOX 32 is looking for a Producer/Photographer/Editor to join the Creative Services Team. You need to be a creative, high-integrity, driven person who takes pride in your work and thrives on collaboration. We are a tight team that works hard and loves to win. We’re looking for people with ideas beyond a typical promotional spot and who want to make short-form videos and digital franchises in addition to topicals and image spots. Must have a can-do attitude and enjoy problem-solving.

Job Summary:

The Multimedia & Commercial Producer will work with our Sales Team to create attention-grabbing commercials for clients on linear TV and streaming platforms.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following duties.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Conceive, pitch, write, produce, and edit engaging commercial spots;
  • Produce client-sponsored promotional content;
  • Successfully execute projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment;
  • Ensure that assigned projects are organized, executed, and delivered on schedule;
  • Demonstrate responsibility for all equipment issued by FOX;
  • Comply with all FOX Corporate computer requirements;
  • Comply with all FOX Corporate and station policies;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Strong editing and graphic design skills;
  • Strong image and promotion writing skills;
  • Extensive knowledge and proven experience in Adobe Premiere and After Effects;
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud products;
  • Proficiency with TV/Film lighting and audio gear;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate successfully with all departments;
  • Well organized, detail-oriented self-starter;
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may require nights, early mornings, weekends, holidays, and emergency scenarios;
  • Must provide a reel of work examples as part of the interview process;
  • Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum three (3) years of video production and marketing experience preferred;
  • Experience shooting with DSLR cameras;
  • Experience in documentary/reality production a plus but not required;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Communications, Journalism, Radio/TV, or related discipline preferred.
