Executive Producer: The search is on for an Executive Producer to helm WFLD’S morning news. We are looking for a leader who will help break the mold of morning television and set the mission for a MEMORABLE news EXPERIENCE. Candidate must possess the following attributes:
- A thorough understanding of Chicago’s morning news audience;
- Create an environment conducive to bringing out the best in everyone on your team, both in front of the camera and behind the scenes;
- An extraordinary leader, especially when it comes to understanding and nurturing talent. You must be able to inspire, educate, and mold the anchor team to improve their performance on a daily basis;
- Superior story selection skills for a 5-hour news block. The ability to stack a rundown that is urgent, unique and flows, while still being able to pivot, to respond to breaking news.
- Creating memorable moments that will make your morning news the buzz of Chicago.
The AM EP will be directly responsible for overseeing newscast producers, morning news crews, production staff, talent, as well as approving scripts and editing copy. Story and future planning, social media campaigns, critiquing shows and evaluating staff are essential components to the position. Ability to perform other duties as assigned, including approving and regulating expenses. REQUIREMENTS: Top candidates must have 5 or more years in television newscast producing/writing experience. Marketing/Digital Specialist: WFLD/WPWR, Fox32Chicago.com and Fox Local, in Chicago, IL, is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic candidate to join our Sales Team. In this role as Marketing and Digital Specialist, you will work in a fast-paced environment where the focus is on servicing our digital and broadcast client’s needs. You will assist the sales team to achieve our goals for OTT, Digital and Linear sales. In addition, you will play a big role in collaborating with other departments, including News and Sports, helping to create unique and interactive sponsorships to elevate client campaigns. Technician: WFLD FOX 32/WPWR is looking for a daily hire Studio/Control room and MC Technician to join our award-winning team! Ideal candidates should have experience with MC Playout automation, Studio automation, Audio operator, robotics, chyron/graphics, live production broadcast equipment, and studio operations. We are looking for individuals who know how to deliver high quality newscasts, have a passion for journalism, and thrive in the technical news production environment. Must be comfortable operating in fast-paced, live production control rooms and studios. JOB HIGHLIGHTS: Candidate will fill a variety of production roles. Perform functions including, but not limited to, Master Control operator, transmission and ingest, technical control room assist, audio operator/mixing, robotics/camera, and chyron/graphics. Account Executive: WFLD has an immediate opening for an experienced OTT salesperson to develop and grow new accounts for the Fox Local Extension OTT platform (FLX). The Account Executive is responsible for prospecting and closing new clients in the FLX space. As a category expert, the candidate will be part of the Fox sales team in Chicago working to sell integrated client solutions across all FOX Platforms including FLX, live news and live sports as well as core digital assets. Assignment Editor: WFLD seeks energetic individual to gather and set-up stories for daily shows. The candidate will be responsible for shuffling news crews and reporters on a daily basis. Responsibilities include setting up stories, following up on stories, working as the transition assignment editor during editorial meetings, occasional field producing, handling paperwork, and answering phones. Newscast Director: WFLD is seeking an experienced per diem newscast director/technical director to join its production team. We utilize a fully automated control room to produce seven and a half hours of live news daily. The ideal candidate will have experience with a production automation system, preferably Sony ELC. Knowledge of the Sony 8000 switcher, ChyronHego tools (Camio, Axis & Luci), robotic cameras and iNews are a plus. Additional duties may include directing weekly political and sports shows, promos, satellite interviews, pre-produced segments and floor directing. Sports Producer: FOX 32 Chicago is looking for a full time Sports Producer to join our team. As the Producer, you will produce and direct live sport shows, live sporting events, and digital content as well as research, develop, and produce original sports content. You must be able to work autonomously, do interviews, write show scripts, and create show budgets. Additionally, you will supervise crews, talents, Associate Producers, and Production Associates during pre-production, production, and post-production.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create Live Sports Shows for both in studio and on location - research, create rundown, assign tasks to staff, graphics pre-build
