Account Executive: WFLD has an immediate opening for an experienced OTT salesperson to manage develop, assist and service business for the Fox local extension OTT platform (FLX).
The Account Executive is responsible for prospecting new business, present FLX capabilities via Zoom and in-person. Act as category expert, working alongside Fox linear sales teams. Overseeing all schedules throughout the campaign; work directly with stations, advertising agencies and clients to increase revenue for the FLX platform.
The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of successful experience in the digital media industry; Digital Video Advertising and/or Digital Agency/Digital Publisher experience preferred. College degree preferred. IAB certification preferred. Familiarity with basic digital media technology. Excellent presentation skills. Preferred Qualifications: Existing relationships with senior level client or agency decision makers. Digital agency relationships. Account Executive: The FOX O&O duopoly in Chicago seeks a highly motivated, team-oriented Account Executive to implement strategies to achieve quarterly budgeted goals developed by management team in order to impact station revenue objectives; develop and maintain strong client relationships and generate new business. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation and communication skills, thorough knowledge of Nielsen ratings, digital and multi-platform initiatives, as well as experience in major market television sales; must be able to identify share and revenue growth opportunities with both transactional and new business clients; contribute to a positive culture that is focused on maintaining and building strong client relationships. REQUIREMENTS: Candidate must possess strong time management and organizational skills; must be able to work in a fast paced, high-pressured, evolving environment; solid problem-solving, communication and strategic skills required; minimum 3 years of sales experience in a major market preferred; must have a proven track record of success selling OTT, Digital as well as new business development. News Producer: WFLD's News Department is seeking an experienced individual for an immediate opportunity in it's newsroom as a Producer. The Producer will generate fresh and engaging content to newscasts and digital. He/she is accountable for gathering, writing, editing, and producing content along with supporting anchors and reporters. The Producer will edit VOs, SOTs, teases, and the occasional PKG for newcasts; mine and facilitate content to news and digital teams; download video and create placeholders within rundown. This person will serve as a "go-to" person for EPs, assignment editors, reporters, photographers and editors regarding editing and video requests. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in communications, journalism, or broadcast required. Minimum of five years' experience in a medium to large television market preferred. Ability to mine content from all sources and possess the technological expertise to write, edit, produce and distribute content to all platforms is required. Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge and understanding of the latest ways to utilize social media, both as a news gathering tool and to communicate with our audience. Per Diem Writer: WFLD is seeking a freelance writer to write stories assigned by producers, gather facts, find video and oversee editing of stories. Responsible for story content and accuracy. Perform duties of line producer when assigned. Must perform all other duties as assigned and deemed appropriate. REQUIREMENTS: Candidate must have 2-3 years writing experience, experience as a line producer and computer knowledge preferred. Must be creative, concise, detail oriented, able to handle deadline pressure and take direction from producers. Reliability, good news judgment, and factual accuracy are crucial. Heaving sitting at workstation, light standing, bending, walking and stair climbing are also required.
