Account Executive: The FOX O&O duopoly in Chicago seeks a highly motivated, team-oriented Account Executive to implement strategies to achieve quarterly budgeted goals developed by management team in order to impact station revenue objectives; develop and maintain strong client relationships and generate new business across our linear and digital platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation and communication skills, thorough knowledge of Nielsen ratings, digital and multi-platform initiatives, as well as experience in television sales; must be able to identify share and revenue growth opportunities with both transactional and new business clients; contribute to a positive culture that is focused on maintaining and building strong client relationships. REQUIREMENTS: Candidate must possess strong time management and organizational skills; must be able to work in a fast paced, high-pressured, evolving environment; solid problem-solving, communication and strategic skills required; minimum 1 year of sales experience in a major market preferred; must have a proven track record of success selling OTT, digital as well as new business development. FLX Account Executive: WFLD has an immediate opening for an experienced OTT salesperson to manage develop, assist and service business for the Fox local extension OTT platform (FLX). The Account Executive is responsible for prospecting new business, present FLX capabilities via Zoom and in-person. Act as category expert, working alongside Fox linear sales teams. Overseeing all schedules throughout the campaign, work directly with stations, advertising agencies and clients to increase revenue for the FLX platform. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of successful experience in the digital media industry; Digital Video Advertising and/or Digital Agency/Digital Publisher experience preferred. College degree preferred. IAB certification preferred. Familiarity with basic digital media technology. Excellent presentation skills. Sales Assistant: WFLD/WPWR seeks a highly motivated individual to join our sales assistant team. The ideal candidate will assist members of the sales team with various projects, reports, and presentations. Core responsibilities include: data entry of broadcast orders, filing, organizing and verifying accuracy of all orders as well as complete follow through of the sales order process. Candidate must be extremely detailed oriented. The position requires daily interfacing with Sales Management, Accounting, Traffic, Research and Programming departments. Anchor/Reporter: WFLD Chicago Fox 32 has an immediate full-time job opening for an anchor/reporter on our news broadcast(s). The ideal candidate will display professionalism and personality, both on and off the air. Candidates must also possess strong presentation skills, strong work ethic, broad knowledge of current affairs, the ability to work effectively with a team of professionals, have an aptitude for social media, and passion for innovation. You will be expected to contribute content as an Anchor/Reporter on-air, and to other platforms including our website and social media. Requirements for this position include at least 3 years of experience at the anchor desk and reporting in the field. News Photographer: WFLD Chicago Fox 32 has an immediate full-time job opening for a staff photographer for our news broadcast(s). Candidate will shoot and edit spot news, feature stories and sports. They will also perform LiveU and ENG microwave shots from in and around the Chicago area. Candidate must be a high caliber news photographer with a minimum 3-5 years’ experience. Bachelor’s degree in Communications or a related field preferred. Candidate must be able to shoot and edit a package in the field and must be familiar with Adobe Premiere. Candidate must be able to lift over fifty (50) pounds of equipment, walk carrying a tripod, batteries and Live U backpack. Must be willing to work in extreme hot/cold weather conditions and be willing to work weekends, holidays, and overnights. Individual must also work well with Assignment Desk, Writers, and Reporters. Chief Meteorologist: WFLD is seeking an experienced Chief Meteorologist. This position is responsible for the daily operations of the weather department by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs the essential duties and responsibilities of weather for assigned newscasts. Prepares and implements a severe weather plan. Establishes a philosophy for the best delivery of weather information to the public. Assists with the maintenance of story boxes in the newsroom computer system including updating files and noting possible story ideas. Reviews newscasts to ensure objectives are attained. Coordinates all scheduling and broadcast deadlines. Leads and participates in all scheduled meetings. ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties as deemed and as assigned. Assist with newscasts outside the normal work schedule at times of severe weather conditions or breaking news. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university required. Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a broadcast meteorologist preferred. Four year degree required. Must have experience in severe weather coverage and knowledge of industry-standard broadcast weather computer and radar systems. Must be a great communicator and have ideas on how to make weather current, relevant and interesting to viewers even on days when the weather is quiet. Demonstrated experience in use of social media and alert systems to disseminate weather information across multiple platforms. FLX Sales Coordinator: WFLD is seeking a FLX Sales Coordinator to work in a fun, fast-paced and fluid environment. This position will be working on the FLX OTT platform along with Sales Leadership, Account Executives (AEs) and marketing on all aspects of the pre and post sales process. The person in this role will handle order processing and assist AEs on prospecting, research gathering, sales planning and invoicing. The FLX Sales Coordinator will also act as a liaison between AEs, agency buyers and clients. REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma required. College degree and digital experience preferred, but not required. The FLX Sales Coordinator must have excellent communication, organization and prioritization skills. Assignment Desk Editor: WFLD is seeking an News Assignment Desk Editor to join our team. Responsibilities include researching and developing fresh story ideas into pitches, and news gathering for all our news platforms. The candidate must have the ability to respond to breaking news and verify information for television newscasts and digital platforms. Monitor news wire, police and fire scanners, and social media for breaking news. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment; be able to multi-task, be a problem solver as well as a strategic thinker. The candidate will be responsible for assigning photographers and reporters to news stories and managing logistics as well. The ideal candidate is an energetic and effective communicator. Must have the ability to develop strong contacts with officials and sources in order to advance stories beyond a press release. The candidate will build relationships with Assignment Desks at FOX affiliates and coordinate breaking news coverage when necessary. The assignment editor also collaborates and shares content with FOX television units including but not limited to FOX Weather, FOX Soul and FOX Crime. Must be a strong competitor and track what the competition is doing. Must stay on top of the news locally, nationally and around the world. Must have strong social media skills. Newscast Director: WFLD is seeking an experienced newscast director/technical director to join its production team. We utilize a fully automated control room to produce seven and a half hours of live news daily. The ideal candidate will have experience with a production automation system, preferably Sony ELC. Knowledge of the Sony 8000 switcher, ChyronHego tools (Camio, Axis & Luci), robotic cameras and iNEWS are a plus. Additional duties may include directing weekly political and sports shows, promos, satellite interviews, pre-produced segments and floor directing. Per Diem Writer: WFLD is seeking a freelance writer to write stories assigned by producers, gather facts, find video and oversee editing of stories. Responsible for story content and accuracy. Perform duties of line producer when assigned. Must perform all other duties as assigned and deemed appropriate. REQUIREMENTS: Candidate must have 2-3 years writing experience, experience as a line producer and computer knowledge preferred. Must be creative, concise, detail oriented, able to handle deadline pressure and take direction from producers. Reliability, good news judgment, and factual accuracy are crucial. Heaving sitting at workstation, light standing, bending, walking and stair climbing are also required.
