Vice President, News Director: FOX CHICAGO (WFLD 32 & WPWR 50) is seeking a visionary Vice President, News Director for a leadership opportunity in the dynamic Chicago TV market. Streaming Sales & Insights Specialist: Do you want to play a key role in building a successful connected television/streaming business? Fox Television Stations is seeking to hire a newly created position within our local TV stations in Chicago, Dallas, Phoenix and Milwaukee. This Specialist role is one part marketer, one part data analyst and is fully involved from the pre-sales process all the way through to post ad campaign reporting. Vice President of Programming and Development: In this newly created role, this person will be responsible for overseeing a new/rebuilt team which will be responsible for new programming, specials and sports coverage on all of our platforms. Production and distribution strategy will also be part of the job.  Our goal is to create content that is appealing to today’s media consumer and meet that consumer "where they are". CTV programming attracts a different viewer than broadcast. The VP will create programming that elevates our brand and has mass appeal to audiences we do not currently reach. Through the main pillars of local news and weather, enterprise news, local sports and more, the person in this role will be lead a team responsible for developing and launching new content, which will play on all screens.  This includes overseeing branding, formats, graphics, overall look, production, execution and audience development.  The team will collaborate with our sales team to create fresh, integrated sponsorship opportunities for clients. All of the produced integrations will result in great ROI for clients and our company, alike. This role also involves collaborating with local sports teams and community partners and managing these relationships. Professional experience required:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the media business, including digital media.

News Anchor/Reporter: WFLD Chicago Fox 32 has an immediate full-time job opening for a News Anchor/Reporter on our news broadcast(s). The ideal candidate will display professionalism and personality, both on and off the air. Candidates must also possess strong presentation skills, strong work ethic, broad knowledge of current affairs, the ability to work effectively with a team of professionals, have an aptitude for social media, and passion for innovation. You will be expected to contribute content as an Anchor/Reporter on-air, and to other platforms including our website and social media. Account Executive: You will be responsible for all aspects of accounts, generating new business, selling OTT and CTV platforms, and the creation and sale of unique multi-screen promotional sponsorships. Work independently and with sales management to implement strategies to maintain strong client and agency relationships, consistently grow revenue, and exceed revenue goals. Present and negotiate all aspects of the stations and digital offerings. Deliver unique and valuable packages to new and existing clients. Meet and communicate with clients regularly to help expedite the closing process. Prepare and deliver sales presentations to clients. Process transactional business. Technician: The production technician will operate auxiliary equipment as part of FOX 32’s live news and sports productions. These include but are not limited to robotic cameras, graphics and audio. The ability to excel under pressure in the fast-paced environment of live local news alongside a talented team of producers and directors is required. Responsibilities include: serve as technical co-pilot for all news and sports programming, experience with studio LED lighting, ETC lighting consoles, Ross studio camera robotics, SSL audio consoles, and Chyron graphics system the ability to mix multiple audio sources during any news or sports program, experience in an automated production control room environment, interaction with talent and guests using excellent interpersonal communication, verbal skills and a professional demeanor is critical. Other duties may include recording news and programming feeds and tuning in Satellite and Microwave signals, preparing content for broadcast by ingesting and timing media as well as judging technical quality. Previous experience with or ability to learn Grass Valley iTX master control automation system is also helpful. Knowledge of windows server/client platforms, high performance storage systems and video encoding/delivery systems is a plus. REQUIREMENTS: Five or more years of television production experience is preferred. Must have strong attention to detail and the ability to proactively isolate and resolve technical problems within network and broadcast systems. You must be a team player that is able to work independently as required. You must have in-depth troubleshooting skills and the ability to perform successfully under pressure are essential. Maintenance Technician: WFLD Fox Chicago is seeking a skilled Broadcast Maintenance Engineer to join our team. The selected candidate will assist in performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and problem-solving of all equipment associated with a 24/7/365 television operation in a major market. The selected candidate will be responsible for maintenance and repair of Automated Master Control Systems, Automated Production Control Rooms Systems, Studio Production equipment, Camera Control Systems, Robotic Pedestals, Remote Production ENG equipment, Newsroom Video Playback, File Based Archive solutions, non-linear edit systems and satellite distribution systems.  The selected candidate will also assist in system design, construction and commissioning of new technologies at the Studio, Transmitter, and Remote Facilities.  Familiarity with Evertz Magnum, Grass Valley ITX, Sony switchers and ELC, Bit Central Playout, Chyron Graphics systems, and Telestream Vantage is a plus. Sports Producer: FOX 32 Chicago is looking for a full-time Sports Producer to join our team. As the Producer, you will produce and direct live sports shows, live sporting events, and digital content as well as research, develop, and produce original sports content. You must be able to work autonomously, do interviews, write show scripts, and create show budgets. Additionally, you will supervise crews, talents, Associate Producers, and Production Associates during pre-production, production, and post-production.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create Live Sports Shows for both in studio and on location - research, create rundown, assign tasks to staff, graphics pre-build;

Ideal candidates should have experience with MC Playout automation, Studio automation, Audio operator, robotics, chyron/graphics, live production broadcast equipment, and studio operations. We are looking for individuals who know how to deliver high quality newscasts, have a passion for journalism, and thrive in the technical news production environment. Newscast Director: WFLD is seeking an experienced per diem newscast director/technical director to join its production team. We utilize a fully automated control room to produce seven and a half hours of live news daily. The ideal candidate will have experience with a production automation system, preferably Sony ELC. Knowledge of the Sony 8000 switcher, ChyronHego tools (Camio, Axis & Luci), robotic cameras and iNews are a plus. Additional duties may include directing weekly political and sports shows, promos, satellite interviews, pre-produced segments and floor directing.
