CHICAGO (Fox 32 News) - Chicago Police are looking for armed robbers after crime spree that stretched across Chicago's North Side and included two carjackings, and a pedestrian injured.

Police say the suspects started off by robbing someone on North Dayton this morning.

Police believe the same suspects then stole a Volkswagen at gunpoint on Waveland Avenue in Lakeview. Police chased the suspects until that Volkswagen ran over a man, 23, in Lincoln Park. He was taken to the hospital in serious to critical condition. Police said they ended the pursuit once the man was run down.

"It's very frustrating," said Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson. "We have to weigh whether the apprehension of that person is worth endangering public safety."

Police say the carjackers smashed into more cars in Wicker Park and then carjacked a green Honda Accord on North Talman. That car has Wisconsin plates 218SPG. The carjackers remained on the loose as of Saturday night.
