Chicago armed robbery: 16-year-old boy charged

The Brief

    • A 16-year-old boy was charged with armed robbery after allegedly robbing a 35-year-old man at gunpoint Wednesday night in Humboldt Park. 
    • He was arrested two hours later, and a detention hearing was scheduled for Friday.

CHICAGO - A 16-year-old boy was charged in connection with an armed robbery Wednesday night in the Humboldt Park neighborhood.

The backstory:

The teen allegedly robbed a 35-year-old man at gunpoint around 8 p.m. in the 4700 block of West Division Street, according to police.

The teen was arrested two hours later in the 700 block of North Sawyer Avenue, police said. 

A detention hearing was scheduled for him on Friday.
