Driver hospitalized with serious injuries after crashing into tree near Marengo
MARENGO, Ill. - A man was critically injured Saturday morning after his vehicle crashed into a tree near Marengo, authorities said.
What we know:
The crash occurred at 7:23 a.m. at the intersection of Route 176 and Millstream Road.
Paramedics arrived within six minutes and found a heavily damaged vehicle that had veered off the road and struck a tree along Route 176, just west of the intersection, according to Marengo officials.
The driver, a man, was transported to Javon Bea Hospital–Riverside in Rockford. No other vehicles were involved, and no additional injuries were reported.
Route 176 was closed in both directions for 3 1/2 hours following the crash.

The McHenry County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash. No further details have been released.
