Harrison Ford joins MCU as Red Hulk in 'Captain America: Brave New World'

Legendary actor (and Chicago native) Harrison Ford has created some of the most iconic cinematic characters of all time — but his newest might be his biggest, meanest and...most RED character yet: Marvel's "Red Hulk" in the newest sequel "Captain America: Brave New World."

The backstory:

Ford sat down to talk with FOX 32 Entertainment Reporter Jake Hamilton to discuss jumping into the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the main reason actors join comic book films: it's fun.

"Nobody does this kind of movie except for fun, it's fun!" Ford said. "Actors get to act, do silly stuff — but they don't do it silly, they do it sincerely for the audience's pleasure, for expanding the universe, the limits of the imagination."

The Oscar-nominated legend added "But it's got to have a human context, it has to have emotional realities that you can feel what you're seeing — otherwise you're just looking at it. Unless you can feel it, emotionally relate to it, it's not useful."

Harrison Ford can be seen in "Captain America: Brave New World" when it opens in theaters on Friday.
