Indiana woman arrested after man seriously hurt in stabbing, police say
MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. - A northwest Indiana woman was arrested this week after police say a man was seriously injured in a stabbing during a domestic dispute.
What we know:
Officers responded around 12:12 a.m. Tuesday to a home in the 500 block of Pearl Street in Michigan City after a 911 caller reported a stabbing.
When police arrived, they found an adult man with serious injuries. Officers provided life-saving aid before the man was taken to Franciscan Health Hospital for treatment.
Police identified the suspect as 38-year-old Nicole Williams of Michigan City. She was taken into custody at the scene.

The following charges are pending against Williams:
- Aggravated battery, a Level 3 felony
- Domestic battery with a deadly weapon, a Level 5 felony
Officers also carried out a search warrant at the home where they collected multiple pieces of evidence, police said.

It remains unclear what led up to the stabbing and what evidence was collected.

The LaPorte County Prosecutor’s Office is reviewing a probable cause affidavit submitted by police. Prosecutors will then determine whether to formally file charges.
