Man arrested for shooting apartment door-kicker on Southwest Side, Chicago police say

CHICAGO - A man accused of shooting someone who was kicking his apartment door in the Back of the Yards Wednesday night has been arrested, police said.

Colton Lexus, 30, was taken into custody at 9:43 p.m. in the 700 block of West Garfield Boulevard, about an hour after the shooting, according to police.

Authorities said Lexus is accused of shooting and injuring a man who was outside an apartment unit and kicking the door. Lexus, who was inside the apartment, shot the victim, police said.

The victim was taken to an area hospital, where he was listed in serious condition.

Lexus is scheduled to appear in court Saturday for a detention hearing.
