Suspicious bag found in Humboldt Park; scene cleared by bomb squad

CHICAGO - A suspicious bag found in Humboldt Park Tuesday afternoon prompted a response from the bomb squad, authorities said.

Police said officers found the bag containing a suspicious object around 4:20 p.m. in the 4000 block of West Grand Avenue.

The bomb squad was called to the scene and safely removed the bag.

The area was secured and later cleared. No injuries were reported. 

The investigation is ongoing.
