CHICAGO - A 33-year-old man allegedly stabbed and seriously wounded a 64-year-old man on Chicago’s Southwest Side on Friday.

Javon Cooper was charged with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated battery and reckless conduct causing great bodily harm, according to the Chicago Police Department.

Police said Cooper allegedly stabbed and seriously hurt the victim in the 7500 block of S. Kedzie Ave. in the Ashburn neighborhood around 1:30 p.m. on Friday, police said.
Cooper was arrested about 15 minutes later.
What's next:
He was expected to appear in court for a detention hearing on Sunday.
