Chicago City Council OKs $280K settlement with activist struck by officer in 2020

The Chicago City Council voted to approve a $280,000 settlement with an activist who was struck and injured by a Chicago police officer during a protest in 2020. Miracle Boyd, then 18 years old, said she was punched in the mouth by a police officer during a protest at the Christopher Columbus statue in Grant Park and lost a tooth as a result.
