Ald. Jason Ervin (28th Ward) released a statement on the two shootings taking place overnight on the West Side:

"Last night, our community was shattered by an unacceptable level of violence. My heart goes out to the families of the victims and to all those whose lives have been changed by this senseless violence. I am calling on our community leaders, our public safety partners, and concerned citizens to work together to bring the perpetrators of these shootings to justice and to begin the work of healing our community. The West Side of Chicago is home to strong, resilient people who deserve to live without fear. We must stand together, reject this violence, and commit ourselves to creating a safer future for every resident."
