No threat to public following barricade situation in Antioch

Antioch police say there is no threat to the public after a barricade situation ended Saturday morning. 

Officials announced they were on the scene of a barricade situation with a suspect who was possibly armed in the 1100 block of Edgewater Lane at 9 a.m. 

Residents were asked to avoid the area as law enforcement officers brought the situation to a safe resolution.

Neighboring police agencies assisted including the Northern Illinois Police Alarm System (NIPAS). 

Just before 11 a.m., police said the subject surrendered peacefully. Nobody was injured in the situation.
