Several homes were badly damaged in an overnight fire.
CHICAGO - A fire erupted in an abandoned apartment building on Chicago's Northwest Side early Friday.
What we know:
Chicago police officers responded to the scene around 2:34 a.m. in the 4900 block of West Medill.
When officers arrived, the Chicago Fire Department (CFD) was already on the scene extinguishing the fire.
A total of three buildings were in flames, including an apartment building and two houses.
Residents were able to exit without any injuries.
There were no displacements, and a warming bus was at the scene for residents.
What we don't know:
The cause of the fire remains unknown. There were reports of a firefighter receiving care at the scene of the fire, but CFD has not confirmed that information at this time.
