A thrill ride at an amusement park in southern Brazil suddenly collapsed mid-operation, injuring 11 people—including three children—and sending riders into a terrifying moment that was captured on video.

Local perspective:

Jeniffer Ferreira Duarte said on TikTok that she captured the exact moment the "Tower" ride plunged at Las Vegas Park in the city of Guaiba.

"Everyone who was on the ride is okay! I can’t remember much, I just remember falling hard, hitting my head on the metal bar, and getting a big bump on my head and bruises all over my body. I’m still very traumatized by everything! It was like a movie! Very scary!" Duarte wrote.

The footage shows the ride suddenly giving way, with the camera dropping to the ground as chaos unfolds. Children can be heard screaming and crying in the background.

What they're saying:

In a statement, Guaiba City Hall said the Fire Department had temporarily banned the ride.

Officials added that all 11 people involved received medical care, with two taken to a facility in Porto Alegre, where they were "stable and being assisted by the medical teams."

"A new inspection will be held on the morning of Monday, April 20, at the request of additional technical praise. The Municipal Administration continues to monitor the situation and reaffirms its commitment to the safety and well-being of the population," the city hall said.
