Chicago police search for driver who struck and killed 66-year-old woman in West Town

A woman was killed Friday morning in West Town after being struck by a vehicle while walking in a crosswalk. 

What we know:

The incident occurred around 8:48 a.m. in the 700 block of North Oakley Boulevard.

Police say a 66-year-old woman was in the crosswalk when a 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross turned into the crosswalk and struck her.

She was taken to Stroger Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim as Halyna Hudzan.

The vehicle fled the scene. No one is in custody.

Chicago police released a photo of the red SUV they said hit and killed Hudzan. It's a 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross.

The Illinois license plate number was DH30095, according to police.
