Chicago man charged with attempted murder in West Pullman shooting

A 37-year-old man was charged with attempted murder in connection with a shooting last July on Chicago's South Side.

The backstory:

Lewis Bey allegedly shot and wounded a 51-year-old man who was in a car on July 5 in the 12300 block of South Normal Avenue, police said.

Bey was arrested Wednesday in the same block where the shooting took place. He was charged with first-degree attempted murder, aggravated battery/discharge of a firearm and aggravated battery/discharge of a firearm into an occupied vehicle.

Bey has a detention hearing scheduled for Thursday.
