Chicago police officers among 4 hurt in West Side crash

Two Chicago police officers and two women were injured in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning on the city's West Side.

The crash happened around 6:10 a.m. at the intersection of Division Street and Hamlin Avenue in the Humboldt Park neighborhood.

According to police, officers in a marked patrol vehicle with emergency equipment activated were traveling north on Hamlin Avenue when they collided with an eastbound SUV in the intersection.

Police said the SUV then struck an unoccupied parked vehicle.

The two officers suffered minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital in fair condition.

The driver of the SUV, a 41-year-old woman, and her 62-year-old female passenger also suffered minor injuries. They were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in fair condition.
