Chicago police: Teen arrested months after separate armed carjacking, robbery at gunpoint

A 16-year-old boy is facing multiple felony charges after police say he was involved in two separate armed incidents on Chicago’s South Side months apart.

The backstory:

The teen was arrested Monday in the 700 block of East 111th Street, according to police. He was identified as one of the people involved in a carjacking on Jan. 25 in the 900 block of East 84th Place.

In that case, a 60-year-old man was forced to give up his vehicle at gunpoint.

The boy is also connected to an earlier incident on Nov. 21, 2025, in the 600 block of East 102nd Street, where a 38-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint.

The teen is charged with aggravated vehicular hijacking with a firearm, armed robbery with a firearm, and aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon.
