Dom Taylor, chef who won Netflix's 'Five Star Chef,' dies at 44

Chef Dom Taylor, known for his approach to celebrating Caribbean cuisine and winner of Netflix's "Five Star Chef," has died. 

He was 44 years old.

"His passion, talent and generosity touched so many people, and his legacy will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him and experiencing his food," Taylor's restaurant, The Good Front Room, wrote on Instagram.

What we don't know:

Taylor's cause of death was not immediately released. 

The backstory:

Taylor, whose full name is Dominic, competed in Netflix's "Five Star Chef" in 2023 and won. 

The competition allowed chefs a chance to bring a fine-dining concept to London's Langham Hotel, according to People magazine. 

Taylor's The Good Front Room restaurant at the hotel became so popular, he moved it permanently to East London.
