Family members mourn 10-year-old killed in house fire: "Full of life"

A 10-year-old boy died and an 18-year-old man was critically injured in an early morning fire in Washington Heights.

A 10-year-old boy was killed and a man was critically injured in a fire Monday morning in the Washington Heights neighborhood.

What we know:

The fire started around 3:30 a.m. at a residence near 104th and Green streets, according to Chicago police.

Firefighters found a 10-year-old boy in the building. He was taken to Roseland Community Hospital where he later died. Robert Harris, the grandfather of the victim, identified him as London Woodard.

An 18-year-old man was also found and taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

Harris said when the fire started, London was inside the living room with the 18-year-old, who has cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair.

He added that London's parents were upstairs when the fire began and were able to exit the home uninjured.

What we don't know:

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
