BROOKFIELD, Illinois (Fox 32 News) - The oldest animal at Brookfield Zoo near Chicago is celebrating its 50th birthday.
Adelaide is a short-beaked echidna.
She was presented with a birthday cake topped with one of her favorite foods: wax worms.
Short-beaked echidnas are native to Australia and New Guinea. They lay eggs, and are covered with spines. They have long snouts and use their sticky tongues to gather food.
