Car of missing CPS teacher found

We have a breaking news update on the search for a missing CPS teacher.  Leslie Moreno has been closely following this case and joins us live with the latest information.

The husband of a missing Chicago Public Schools teacher says her vehicle has been found, though police have not confirmed that information.

What we know:

Fifty-three-year-old Linda Brown, a CPS special education teacher, has been missing since Saturday afternoon. She was last seen in the 4500 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in the city’s Bronzeville neighborhood.

Brown’s husband says her blue Honda Civic — believed to be the vehicle she was driving — has been located. The family says they are not releasing the location because police are actively searching  the area.

Chicago police told our newsroom they could not confirm the vehicle’s recovery and said no new details about the investigation have been released.

According to her husband, the couple spent Friday night watching a movie before Brown went to bed early. He says when he woke up the next morning, she was already gone.

The family says Brown has a history of mental illness but had never gone missing before.

Police have not confirmed any developments related to the vehicle or said whether Brown was found inside. Her husband continues to ask the public for help as the search continues.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Chicago police.
