The Mag Mile gets first-ever visitor center

CHICAGO - The Magnificent Mile now has an official visitors center.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Thursday for the center, which used to be a newsstand at the corner of Michigan and Chicago avenues.

Anyone is invited to make a stop there, not just tourists.

People there will have recommendations about places to go, give directions, hail a taxi or help escort people to their cars.
