CHICAGO - CTA trains on the city’s North Side experienced major delays on Monday night due to a minor derailment.
What we know:
The Yellow, Purple and Red line trains were standing with major delays after a Yellow Line train derailed at the Howard Station, according to the CTA.
Riders on two trains were escorted to the nearby station platform, officials said. No one was injured.
Service on the Yellow Line resumed Tuesday morning.
Bus shuttles were requested for the various affected lines:
- Red Line from Howard to Morse
- Purple Line from Howard to Linden
- Yellow Line from Howard to Skokie
The cause of the derailment is under investigation.
