Man busted while trying to rob Chicago-area bank at gunpoint

A man was arrested after allegedly holding up a bank at gunpoint in suburban Chicago.

What we know:

Around 9:15 a.m., Hoffman Estates police responded to a report of an armed robbery in progress at Huntington Bank located at 1485 W. Palatine Road.

Callers reported that a man pulled out a gun and demanded money from the bank tellers. Hoffman Estates and Inverness police officers arrived within a minute and took the suspect into custody.

The suspect was turned over to the FBI and is facing federal charges.

No injuries were reported.
