What they're saying:
Chela Garcia, with the Little Village Community Council, lives near where the shooting occurred.
"I was sitting on my back porch, heard the shooting. I came out. It was someone who I knew," Garcia said.
Garcia said the man who was killed had his child nearby at the time of the shooting. She also said one of the wounded women is his girlfriend.
She said the neighborhood had been peaceful recently and that the gun violence was shocking.
"This is a very popular corner, that corner vendors come to for years. They have been here for years. THis happened on an afternoon when there were so many kids. I just can't believe there can be so much violence at this time," Garcia said. "The only thing I can do is watch their stuff there. I could sit with the stuff until family members come and pick up their things."
