Man shot in back on Chicago's South Side: police

CHICAGO - A 33-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot in the back in Chicago's Chatham neighborhood Monday afternoon.

Around 4 p.m., police say the male victim was in the 800 block of E. 89th Street when he was struck in the back by gunfire.

The victim took himself to an area hospital in critical condition, police said.
