Man shot in the leg while in car on Northwest Side

CHICAGO - A man was shot Saturday in Hermosa on the Northwest Side.

He was in his vehicle about 4 p.m. in the 4600 block of West McLean Avenue when someone opened fire, Chicago police said.

The 41-year-old was shot in the leg and taken to Norwegian American Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

Area Five detectives are investigating.

On Jan. 31, 1996, Rachel Marie Mellon, who was 13 years old at the time, disappeared from her home in Bolingbrook and has not been seen since.
