CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - It's a problem that only seems to be getting worse. Violence on the streets of Chicago that is ending young lives. Over the weekend, four people were killed — including a 14-year-old boy — and at least 16 other people were wounded in Chicago shootings.
And now, Mayor Rahm Emanuel is making a passionate plea to parents in a city that is plagues with violence.
Sunday, Mayor Rahm Emanuel took a trip to St. Sabina Church on the South Side to speak to the community about the shooting death of 9-year-old Tyshawn Lee.
During his pulpit speech, Emanuel said the only code people should be following is a moral code, and that means people with information should speak up and help find the little boy's killer.
Investigators have executed several search warrants in the investigation, and a $54,600 reward has been offered for any information leading to an arrest.
The funeral for Tyshawn is set for Tuesday.
