TUCSON, Ariz. - A person of interest detained for questioning in the Nancy Guthrie disappearance case has been released.
What we know:
The individual was detained for questioning Tuesday in the kidnapping of Guthrie, hours after the FBI released surveillance videos of a masked person wearing a gun holster outside Guthrie’s front door the night she disappeared from her Arizona home.
Nancy Guthrie case: New photos released from recovered doorbell camera video
The FBI and the Pima County Sheriff's Department have released newly recovered images that show "an armed individual appearing to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie's front door the morning of her disappearance."
News outlets later interviewed a man who said he was questioned and released. Police have not confirmed that the person they picked up was released.
The person was detained during a traffic stop south of Tucson, Arizona, according to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.
‘I was being detained’
What they're saying:
Carlos Palazuelos told a FOX News reporter he was pulled over and detained during a traffic stop in Rio Rico.
"I was being detained. Detained, OK. I was detained the whole time," he said.
Palazuelos says he was questioned by authorities about his whereabouts and where he worked. Palazuelos says he works as a delivery driver in Tucson.
"Do you think you might have delivered a package to Nancy Guthrie's house?" the reporter asked.
"I don't know. It might have been a possibility. I don't know," Palazuelos replied.

Man detained, released in search for Nancy Guthrie
The investigation into Nancy Guthrie's disappearance continues to ramp up in Tucson as a man who was detained for questioning on Tuesday night has been released. FOX 10's Irene Snyder and Danielle Miller have the latest.
He says investigators showed his family member photos of the masked person caught on surveillance footage at Guthrie's home.
"That's it. That's all I know," Palazuelos said.
Palazuelos says investigators also took his phone while he was being detained.
When did Nancy Guthrie disappear?
The backstory:
Nancy Guthrie disappeared on Feb. 1 and since then, until Tuesday, it seemed police were making little headway in determining what happened to the 84-year-old mother of "Today" show host Savannah Guthrie or finding who was responsible for the incident.
Savannah Guthrie and her two siblings released several video statements pleading for the return of their mother and indicating a willingness to pay a ransom.
