Police: 14-year-old boy shot to death in Austin

CHICAGO (SUN TIMES MEDIA WIRE) - A 14-year-old boy was shot to death Saturday afternoon in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.
Laquan Allen was shot in the buttocks just after 3 p.m. in the 4900 block of West Hubbard, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Details on the circumstances of the shooting were not immediately available.
Allen was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3:34 p.m., according to authorities. He lived in the West Humboldt Park neighborhood.
Area North detectives were investigating.
