Police: Missing McHenry man found dead in Fox River

MCHENRY, Ill. (STMW) - A missing northwest suburban man found Tuesday afternoon in the Fox River died of drowning, an autopsy has found.

Roger T. Little’s brother reported the mentally handicapped 69-year-old missing about 8:30 p.m. Monday from their home in the 2800 block of North Villa Lane in unincorporated McHenry, according to the McHenry County sheriff’s office.

A team of about 25 officers and K-9 units canvassed the area unsuccessfully Monday night, then suspended the search until 8 a.m. Tuesday, police said.

After eight hours of searching, a helicopter unit spotted his body in the Fox River near the 500 block of Mineral Springs Drive, police said.

An autopsy Wednesday found Little died of drowning, according to the McHenry County coroner’s office. There was no evidence of trauma or foul play, authorities said.
