Police search for suspects in series of armed robberies across Chicago

Chicago police are seeking multiple suspects following five armed robberies that occurred within hours of each other early Friday.

The incidents occurred at the following times and locations:

  • 1200 block of West Randolph St on January 3, 2025, at 5:40 AM. (Fulton Market District)
  • 700 block of North May St on January 3, 2025, at 6:22 AM. (West Town) 
  • 3200 block of West Lake St on January 3, 2025, at 6:50 AM. (Garfield Park) 
  • 300 block of North Avers Ave on January 3, 2025, at 6:59 AM. (Garfield Park) 
  • 100 block of North Western Ave on January 3, 2025, at 7:14 AM. (Near West Side)

In each incident, two or three male suspects, all wearing black or dark clothing and black ski masks, exited a stolen vehicle and approached victims while armed with handguns. The suspects demanded property before fleeing in the vehicle.

In some incidents, victims were pistol-whipped or battered, authorities said.

The suspects, described as being between 17 and 20 years old, were traveling in a stolen white Jeep Grand Cherokee.
