Suspect wanted for robbing St. Charles Mini Mart at gunpoint

The St. Charles Police Department is looking for the suspect who robbed a mini-mart at gunpoint Sunday night.

What we know:

St. Charles Police responded to a robbery report at St. Charles Mini Mart located at 710 S. 3rd Street around 8 p.m.

Employees said that the suspect entered the store, engaged with them at the counter, and began a transaction. 

While one employee was ringing up the sale, the suspect brandished a handgun and demanded money from the register. 

After receiving the cash, the suspect placed it in a black backpack and fled the scene on foot, heading north or northwest. 

The suspect was described as a Black female dressed entirely in black, including a black facemask and a black backpack.

No injuries were reported.

What we don't know:

The exact amount of money taken during the robbery has not been disclosed.

The police have not yet provided details about any possible connection to other recent crimes in the area.
