CHICAGO - Police and SWAT officers secured a scene Wednesday afternoon after a standoff involving a person wanted in connection with a domestic-related shooting, authorities said.
What we know:
Police said the suspect was believed to be barricaded inside a vehicle Wednesday morning in the rear of the 14800 block of Wabash Avenue and was refusing to exit.
SWAT and other specialized units responded to the scene.
Authorities later accessed the vehicle and found no one inside. A nearby residence was also searched, but no individuals were located.
"There is no active threat to the public at this time," Dolton police said.
Village officials reported a heavy police presence in the area and urged residents to avoid the vicinity and remain indoors as a precaution.
What we don't know:
It remains unclear where or when the initial shooting occurred.

Authorities said the investigation is ongoing as officers continue searching for the person involved.
