Teen critically wounded in South Side alley shooting, police say

CHICAGO - A teenage boy is hospitalized after being gunned down in an alley Saturday afternoon on Chicago's South Side, authorities said.

What we know:

The shooting happened at 1:53 p.m. in the 6500 block of South Damen Avenue, in the West Englewood neighborhood. 

Chicago police said the 17-year-old boy was in the alley when a vehicle pulled up and someone inside fired shots at him.

He was struck multiple times and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition, according to CPD.
