Woman, 47, dies after being struck by Amtrak train in Lemont: police

LEMONT, Ill. - An Amtrak train struck and killed a 47-year-old woman in Lemont, prompting an investigation, police said.

The incident happened at 3:01 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Main Street and Stephen Street. 

Lemont police have not released the woman's identity yet and further details on what happened are limited at this time. 

Police said they are working with Amtrak to investigate the incident.
