The Heartland Animal Shelter in Wheeling has been rescuing homeless pets since 2002. The no kill shelter has rescued over 14,000 pets in their years. One such animal is a 6-month-old Lab mix named Stafan. The shelter will celebrate it's 21st anniversary on Oct. 21 with a Casino Royale Gala.
