Illinois lawmaker weighs in on police being banned from ticketing and fining for misbehavior

In Illinois the last few years, if you were caught smoking or vaping in school, you wouldn’t just end up in the principals office - you’d find yourself with an actual police ticket and fine. But over the summer Illinois lawmakers passed a law to explicitly prevent police from ticketing and fining students for minor misbehavior at school.
