Chicago City Council plans more meetings to pass a budget as deadline looms

The Chicago City Council on Wednesday scheduled five more meetings to ensure they can pass a 2026 budget before the end-of-the-year deadline. Alders and Mayor Brandon Johnson have clashed on how to close a more than $1 billion budget deficit.
