New law proposed by Illinois state rep. intern reforms sexual assault reporting

A new law amends Illinois sexual assault reporting procedures, expanding the rights of victims to request the gender of an interviewing officer and allowing them a support person during interviews. Stephanie Bolanos, 20, developed the bill as an intern for State Rep. Daniel Didech and explains what went into her proposal.
