We've talked to the University of Chicago's Robert Pape on this show many times - he leads the school's project on security and threats - a well regarded international think tank - and he's been writing about the Iran War on Substack - claiming it falls into his theory of the "Escalation Trap," where immediate bombing leads to escalation leads to an all out quagmire - and that's where he believes this is headed, especially as Iran controls the all important oil pathway - the strait of Hormuz
