Chicago sees split reaction to Iran strike
Chicago saw two very different responses to the U.S. attack on Iran. A coalition of 27 local organizations gathered at Federal Plaza for what they called an emergency anti-war protest. Just blocks away at Daley Plaza, about 100 Iranian-Americans held what felt more like a celebration — dancing, handing out sweets and cheering the death of Iran’s longtime leader. Many said their families fled the regime decades ago and called the moment emotional, though they acknowledged that any path to regime change will not be easy.
