Chicago Weather: More lovely temps, choppy waters in Lake Michigan
Fox Chicago Meteorologist Mark Strehl has the forecast for Aug. 23, 2026.
CHICAGO - We’re expecting more lovely weather to end the weekend, but higher winds might make it dangerous to be out on the water.
Fox Chicago Meteorologist Mark Strehl has the forecast.
What To Expect:
High temperatures should stay in the mid-70s throughout today. The dew points are fairly low, which makes for dry air and comfortable conditions.
There is still an increased chance of dangerous swimming conditions with waves up to 3 to 6 feet along much of Lake Michigan, according to the National Weather Service. These could pose danger to swimmers and boaters through the evening hours.
Monday will continue to be a bit cooler than recent days with highs in the mid to upper 70s, and cooler temps by the lake.
Daytime high temperatures will then slowly creep back into the 80s as the work week continues.
The next chance of storms comes on Wednesday.
