Chicago weather: Rain chances fade ahead of sunny Memorial Day
CHICAGO - Chicago-area residents can expect improving weather conditions through Memorial Day weekend, with sunshine and warmer temperatures returning after a chance of overnight rain.
Saturday’s high is expected to reach 72 degrees under mostly cloudy skies, followed by 78 degrees Sunday and 82 degrees on Memorial Day Monday. Conditions will continue improving throughout the holiday weekend.
A low-pressure system moving through Indiana is expected to bring some cloud cover overnight before skies gradually clear Saturday. Rainfall is expected to move in late Saturday night into early Sunday morning, with the heaviest showers likely occurring during that period. Some lingering rain may continue Sunday morning before drier conditions return by Sunday afternoon.
Sunday night is expected to be clear and pleasant, setting up for sunny conditions on Memorial Day.
Tonight’s low is forecast around 54 degrees, with only a slight chance of isolated showers, mainly in northwest Indiana and parts of the Kankakee Valley. Temperatures are expected to remain in the 70s through Sunday before climbing into the 80s next week.
