12-year-old boy missing from Portage Park

A 12-year-old boy who suffers from seizures was reported missing early Saturday from the Northwest Side Portage Park neighborhood.

Kenneth Maya, of North Long and West Warwick, was last seen about 5 p.m. Saturday, according to a missing person alert from Chicago Police. He did not take his medication, EpiPen, medical ID bracelet, or cell phone with him.

His parents also told authorities that his last post on social media contained the word “death” and said that he was depressed, police said.

He was described as a 5-foot-5, 130 pound Hispanic boy with brown eyes, black hair and a light olive complexion, police said. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, gray jeans and black and white gym shoes. He was also with an unknown Hispanic boy between 12 and 14 years old.
